We can’t have Gav’s little brother have all the fun and spotlight! That’s why we had a session for Gavin all his own … and he knows how to ham it up! He is a sweet big brother to Carter (his session will be posted next!) On a wonderful afternoon, we headed to Meadowlark Botanical Gardens and in a short time, had a lot of fun. I’m excited that I’ll be seeing them for the next year for their sessions!

      I was thrilled when Ana contacted me to photograph the baptism of her second son. The sacred ritual was to take place in the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in Bethesda, Maryland. I had the honor of photographing another Greek Orthodox baptism last year and I knew that the ceremony would be reach in details, color and more importantly, meaning. Thank you Ana for allowing me to participate and capture the photos of the day. I enjoyed capturing the emotion, the joy, and the commitment to God that your son has made. May God bless you all!
As a mom and photographer, you’d think that I would have so many photos of my kids – stylized shoots, posed, cuff-of-the-moment … That I’d edit and print them all and have albums and wall hangings. Ha. Let me tell you the reality – after almost three years, I finally, FINALLY! have several photos of both of my kids together! It’s so hard for me to photograph my kids because I’m trying to be mom and photographer at the same time. Ryan, my then 6-year-old, has been cooperating for quite a while. He’s so cute because he’ll pose himself and ask “is this ok, mommy? Should I put my hands like this?” Grace, my not quite 3 but going on 13, will not sit still, will not face the camera, will not cooperate. Period. Until, finally we turned a corner! I was so thrilled when I captured these images. Trust me … I have several canvases and framed photos hanging all over the house! Stick around and I’ll share them next time <3
Location: Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, VA This session was different because the mom came with lots of great ideas of what she wanted, so we had a blast coming up with photographs to fulfill her vision – because at the end of the day, she needs to absolutely love the images of her perfect baby girl. And she did!! Thankful for the opportunity to photograph this darling baby … she is just perfection!
What do you get when you have three grown siblings with their significant others/spouses and grandparents and throw in a couple of kids … and you get a fun family gathering! I love large family gatherings, and this one was no different! I met them at the Bishop’s Garden of the National Cathedral in DC. For a short period of time over Easter, they got together from across North America (US and Mexico) and I was lucky enough to meet them and capture their reunion.
